Channels
Channels are group conversations organised by topic, team, or project.

Create a channel

Add a Channel
Click Add a Channel in the left sidebar. Type a name and press Enter. Set the channel as Public (anyone can join) or Private (invite only). Add members by typing their names. The channel is immediately available to all members.
Channel naming
Use a consistent naming convention: #team-sales, #project-intrix, #general, #random, #announcements. Prefix with # by convention to signal it is a channel. Keep the number of channels manageable — too many channels fragments conversation.

Channel features
In any channel: attach files, share links, mention a person with @name (they get a notification), mention the whole channel with @channel, react with emoji, reply in thread to keep conversations organised. Pin important messages for easy reference. Mute channels you are in but do not need notifications from.
