Direct Messages
Direct messages are private conversations between two or more people.

Send a direct message

New Message
Click New Message in the Direct Messages section of the sidebar. Search for the person by name. You can start a group DM by adding multiple people. Direct messages are private — only participants can see them.

Discuss on mobile
The Odoo mobile app fully supports Discuss — channels, DMs, and the chatter. Push notifications alert you to mentions and DMs. The mobile Discuss experience is comparable to WhatsApp or Slack. For teams that are primarily mobile (field workers, sales reps), the Odoo app can replace dedicated messaging apps for work conversations.
Notification settings
Control notification frequency per channel in your Discuss preferences. Options: All Messages, Mentions Only, or Muted. Set frequently active channels to Mentions Only to reduce interruptions while staying connected.
