What POS does
The POS module is designed for face-to-face sales at a physical location. It runs as a web application on a tablet or computer and works offline if the internet drops. Every sale updates Inventory in real time, creates accounting entries, and can be linked to customer loyalty programmes. The session concept groups all transactions in a shift — you open a session, process sales, and close at end of day.
POS vs Sales
Use POS for: walk-in customers paying immediately, retail or restaurant environments, high transaction volumes, cash or card payments at a counter. Use Sales module for: quotations that need approval, orders shipped later, B2B customers on credit terms, complex pricing or multi-line orders.
