The Phone module integrates VoIP (Voice over IP) calls into Odoo — make and receive calls from the browser, with automatic logging against CRM leads and customer records.

What Phone/VoIP does

The Phone module connects Odoo to a VoIP provider (Axivox, Twilio, or any SIP-compatible provider). Sales reps and support agents can make and receive calls directly from the browser — no separate phone app needed. Every call is automatically logged as an activity on the relevant CRM opportunity, customer record, or helpdesk ticket. Call duration, outcome, and notes are recorded.

Setup requirements

VoIP requires: a compatible VoIP provider account (Odoo officially supports Axivox), SIP credentials from your provider, and a computer with a microphone. Configure the SIP credentials in Settings > Technical > VoIP > VoIP Provider. Each user enters their own SIP extension in their user preferences.

Malaysian VoIP providers For Malaysian companies, popular VoIP providers compatible with Odoo include Axivox (Odoo official partner), Maxis Business, Time dotCom, and any provider offering SIP trunking. Check with your IT team on the best option for your call volume and connectivity.
