What Maintenance does
Maintenance tracks your company's physical assets — machines, vehicles, office equipment — and manages both planned (preventive) and unplanned (corrective) maintenance activities. It connects with Manufacturing for production equipment downtime and Inventory for spare parts management. Every maintenance activity is logged for cost tracking and compliance.
Equipment vs Maintenance Requests
Equipment records store asset details, maintenance history, and scheduled tasks. A Maintenance Request is a specific job to be done on a piece of equipment — either planned in advance (preventive) or triggered by a breakdown (corrective). Equipment can have many requests over its lifetime.
