Leads are unqualified enquiries that need assessment before becoming full opportunities. This chapter covers lead management when the leads feature is enabled.

Enable leads

CRM Configuration Settings Leads

Leads are disabled by default. To enable them, go to Configuration → Settings and tick Leads. Save. A Leads menu item will appear under CRM → Sales. When enabled, new enquiries (from web forms, emails, or manual entry) are created as leads rather than opportunities.

View and manage leads

CRM Sales Leads

The leads list shows all unqualified enquiries. Each lead has a contact name, email, phone, company, and source. Assign leads to salespeople for qualification. Use the Kanban view for a visual queue or List view for bulk management.

Convert a lead to an opportunity

CRM Sales Leads (open lead) CONVERT TO OPPORTUNITY

Once a lead is qualified, click Convert to Opportunity. Odoo checks for duplicates and merges if the contact already exists. Fill in the expected revenue, close date, and sales team, then confirm. The lead becomes a full opportunity and appears in the pipeline.

Conversion Action * Convert to Opportunity: creates a new opportunity. Merge with Existing: merges with a duplicate if found.
Salesperson * Assign the opportunity to a specific salesperson.
Sales Team * Which team will own this opportunity.
Expected Revenue Initial revenue estimate for the opportunity.
