Barcode Overview
The Barcode module enables barcode scanning throughout Inventory and Manufacturing — speeding up receipts, deliveries, transfers, and stock counts.
What Barcode does
Barcode turns Odoo into a scan-driven warehouse management system. Instead of navigating menus and typing product names, warehouse staff scan barcodes to identify products, locations, and lots. The Barcode app provides a simple mobile interface optimised for scanning — full screen, large buttons, minimal typing. Compatible with USB barcode scanners, Bluetooth scanners, and smartphone cameras.
Setting up barcodes
Enable Barcode in Inventory settings. Assign barcodes to: products (on the product form, Inventory tab), storage locations (on the location record), lots and serial numbers (on the lot/serial record), and operation types (for scanning to start an operation). Print barcode labels from any of these records using the Print Labels action.
